RESEARCH

AND SOCIAL

INNOVATION

“Whenever you are in doubt […] apply the following test. Recall the face of the poorest and the weakest man whom you may have seen, and ask yourself, if the step you contemplate is going to be of any use to him. Will he gain anything by it? Will it restore him to a control over his own life and destiny? In other words, will it lead to Swaraj for the hungry and spiritually starving millions? Then you will find your doubts and your self melt away.”

Mahatma Gandhi

Through our research and social innovation projects – ranging from product design to urban design scale – at SPPARC, we address social problems that persist in urban and rural areas, often in spite of considerable investment of money and intelligence. Our focus is on generating systematic solutions that create a transformative force capable of nurturing major changes across society for improving the quality of life. We furthermore forge partnerships with innovative citizen groups, businesses, academic institutions and governments to address problems at the local, state and national levels.
